Summer of Games 2023 is officially here. Even though E3 is canceled this year, there are plenty of digital events to fill the void.
Here at Gamer Cat Cafe, our focus is cats, so we'll be covering every cat-centered game announcement.

Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean

The puntastic cat adventure game series returns with its third installment with Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean.
The game is set for release, in the developer's own words, in 2020 furr. I told you those puns are on point.
"The whole crew has been busy putting their efforts into taking Cat Quest to the next level, adding ship sailing, an evolved combat system, and a new freely explorable world and story in this latest installment."

Revenant Hill

The second cat game announced during the PlayStation Showcase features a black cat working to be a fully licensed familiar. In Revenant Hill, Twigs the cat finds themselves in a new living situation with a ton to do around town and a community to build.
The story also has deeper roots,
"Something big and dark is at work in the towns, the factories, in the forests and hills. At some point, someone is going to have to push back. And they can’t do it alone."

Summer Game Fest

Dubbed Keigh-3, after event organizer Geoff Keighley, is Summer Game Fest. SGF showcases game updates and premieres from across the industry. See all the games announced during Summer Game Fest 2023 here.
Little Kitty, Big City

Take the city by storm in Little Kitty, Big City. In the game, you play as a lost kitty looking for your way back home, but the path there is filled with adorable mischief.

Mineko's Night Market

During the preshow, we got to see a new trailer for Mineko's Night Market.
The game highlights Japanese culture with sim gameplay, amazing art and a heavy dose of cats.

Brewing tea, decorating and cats?!! That purrfect combo is present in the upcoming cat game Pekoe by Kitten Cup Studio.
We got to see the Official Release Window Trailer during the preshow. The end of the trailer stated the release window as the "end of June," and June 28 is currently listed on Steam.
"Blend tea and friendship in the flavorful world of Pekoe, a cozy cat-filled tea-making simulator about taking the time for self-care and connecting with what makes you happy."
Everdeep Aurora

New game Everdeep Aurora was revealed during the direct. The game's style mixes grit with adorableness as you navigate and drill into the deep as Shell.
The world is rich with characters to explore on the journey to find Shell's missing mother.
"You will drill downward into the depths to discover a hidden subterranean world and its inhabitants: tormented creatures with an uncertain past."
Campfire Cat Cafe

Out now
Mobile game Campfire Cat Cafe released a little bit earlier in the year and during the direct, we got to see the official trailer.
This cozy game has players managing and decorating a cat cafe in the woods.

Cato is a puzzle platformer with a cat and a piece of buttered toast.
The two can either act separately or combine to solve obstacles. I'm totally here for buttered cat physics.

Quilts & Cats of Calico

Talk about cozy, in Quilts & Cats of Calico the goal is to attract kitties with the best quilts.
The game is an adaptation of the board game of the same name.

What was initially set as a live event turned into a disaster turned into a live-stream showcase put on last moment by Jirard the Completionist.
During the six-hour stream indie games got the spotlight including two cat games.
Gori: Cuddly Carnage

Gori: Cuddly Carnage is all about indulging in the urge to violently decimate demented "cuddly" enemies with a rad and colorful backdrop.

Snacko brings two adorable cat friends together on an adventure on a mysterious island. Gameplay includes farming, building, "befriending," and exploring.

Annapurna Interactive closed out the June showcase season with highlights and announcements. We got the news that cat gaming superstar Stray will be coming to Xbox. The announcement trailer was epic to say the least, see that below.
