Palicoes Are Confirmed for New Niantic Game Monster Hunter Now

Monster Hunter Now was announced April 2023. It merges Pokemon GO gameplay style with Monster Hunter beasties.

Cat fans will be excited to know that Palicoes will be in the game. “Monster Hunter Now is a new and unprecedented Monster Hunter game that entices players to go out with their Palico and encounter incredible monsters in the real world,” said series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto in the announcement for the game.

Palicoes of course are the adorable cat companions in the world of Monster Hunter. So far it's been revealed that they will use a paintball feature that marks monsters for players while the app is closed. A very useful mechanic for AR games.

The game launches Sept. 2023 and players can sign up now for a closed beta here.
