Dames 4 Games is an excellent organization that highlights and celebrates women in gaming. Part of that celebration are their showcases, the latest being the March 2024 Showcase that took place on March 6.
Below are all the cat games that were featured during the showcase. Special shout-out to the devs who brought their cats and dogs to the stream 😸
First up, we heard from the devs behind Night at the Meowseum. The game follows Misu, the night guard, as he patrols and stops would-be thieves. Game play consists of puzzle battles with story episodes.
"Embark in a pawesome journey to retrieve all the artifacts and discover the mysteries behind the gang of thieves and the Meowseum Itself!"
During the showcase we got a behind the scenes looks at the character design process and were introduced to the developers.
The game will be available on mobile via the App Store and Google Play. Pre-registration is available now. The team also said that they are looking for a publisher to bring the game to Steam.
Next up we heard from Spoonful of Wonder aka the developers of the upcoming game Copycat. Like the name implies, the game features a copycat that makes the player contemplate what home really means.
"A narrative-driven game about rejection, belonging and the true meaning of home. It follows the story of a newly adopted shelter cat who becomes the victim of an elaborate plan when a jealous, stray copycat steals her place in the household."
Again, we got an inside look at the work behind the game with a focus on the writing process.
Copycat is set to release sometime in 2024 on Steam.
